Level 7 NVQ Diploma in strategic health & safety leadership and management
OVERVIEW
The Level 7 NVQ Diploma In Strategic Health & Safety Leadership and Management qualification is aimed at candidates who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures day-to-day in their organisation. They may be a staff member, supervisor or manager looking to improve their knowledge and skills.
The awarding body for these qualifications is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
This NVQ is equivalent to a Master’s degree. As the name suggests this qualification meets the standards set out by the UK’s national qualifications framework (NQF) to be a level 7 qualification which is similar to a level 11 on the Scottish credit and qualifications framework (SCQF).
This qualification reflects current practice in Occupational Health and Safety Management and allows learners to develop and expand their high-level understanding of occupational health and safety in the workplace. The qualification will enable learners to become independent, self-directed learners with tools and motivation to continue learning, developing, and reflecting on practice throughout their careers.
To achieve the qualification candidates must complete ALL of the Mandatory units which are:
- Risk-based safety systems management
- Safety culture, sustainability and the global effect on performance
- Digital technologies and incident investigation
- Development as a strategic manager
- Establish business risk management processes
ENTRY REQUIREMENTs
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
ASQ will carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.
This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.
The qualification will be assessed in line with the Construction Skills Consolidated Assessment Strategy and will be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified assessor.
